yeah, I found a nice og900 sedan that looks almost like Nico's car. It has only run 15000 miles so if my engine is toast then I can use the engine from this one in Amanda. Here's a pic.Ursprungligen postat av Dennan
At the moment not much is happening. I have removed the cylinder head and inspected what I can for the moment. The pistons are whole and there is no visible scoring in the cylinder liners. I cannot rotate the engine more that 2cm in both directions so I suspect that the bottom of a connecting rod has loosened or something strange has happened to the bottom cam drive. Nico and I plan to remove the engine and check it out this weekend. Wish us luck.Ursprungligen postat av stoffe77
The beast goes by Amanda?
Awesome project Glen, I hope to get a glance at it sometime soon!

Vilken speed du har, ens egna projekt står ju still i jämförelse!
ok, the engine came out on Sunday and was disassembled. The oil pump was the problem. It had seized and you could not remove the outer pump sprocket from the oil pump cover! Since this happened right when the engine was turned off it appears that no damage was made to the rest of the engine. All bearings look fine and show no signs of contamination or odd wear. I checked the crankshaft end play (axialspel) and it was 0.16mm which should not be a problem. My old SAAB book says 0.08-0.31 is allowed. The only thing that I can guess is that I installed the crankshaft seal incorrectly (too far in) on the oil pump cover which may have not allowed the excess oil to run down to the oil pan. Lucky me that I have an extra oil pump cover. I just need to buy a new crankshaft seal and oil pump. Please come with any suggestions if you guys are familiar with this kind of oil pump problem. Thanks in advance and wish Nico and I some luck.

Yeah, we were going to get started last night but my silly og900i decided to give us some trouble. The hydraulic line that goes to the clutch slave cylinder started leaking from a rusty spot = no clutch. We tried to fix it on the spot but only a new line / hose will do the trick. If anybody has one of these laying around it would be greatly appreciated. We'll see if we can get anything constructive done tonight. Wish us luck.Ursprungligen postat av Nico

Håller tummarna på att det går vägen!!!
Thanks, I'm sure we'll get it sorted out soon. I've been away on a long needed vacation and will be back to work on my Aero very soon. First I have to replace the kopplingsslang on my white og900i. If anybody has a good used one then please let me know.Ursprungligen postat av stoffe77
I also have to sell a Volvo S70 that I have inherited. It's almost like getting a case of herpes. If anybody is interested in that then please contact me.
