    Help with APC project

    Hi all !

    first off, thanks a lot in advance for any help
    I'm currently trying to fit an APC system to my Audi turbo
    I got a setup from a 900 T16S B202
    the box I had is a 7521818 - "LUXOR AB MOTALA"





    I want to connect a knock led to it
    however, I can't make sure wich pin on the connector to use
    I searched and found mention of the 4 or 5 pins
    as can be seen on pic of the board, there is NO pin 5 on this box !

    here is a wiring code I found
    I marked "OK" the ones I understand
    can someone translate the ones marked "???"

    1. Svart (knacksensor, skärm) > shield, OK
    2. Grön (knacksensor) > OK
    3. Brun (knacksensor) > OK
    4. -- (Knacksignal, rör ej) > ???
    5. -- (Spikdiod) > ???
    6. Svart (Jord) > OK
    7. Blå (RPM) > OK
    8. Svart (Jord) > OK
    9. Grön/Röd (Tryckgivare) > OK
    10. -- (Ihopkopplad med 9) > ???
    11. -- (Styrsignal F-kretsen, rör ej) > ???
    12. Gul/Vit (Magnetventil) > OK
    13. -- (Diod till F-kretsen) > ???
    14. Grå/Röd (+12V) > OK

    also the guy I got the setup from can't find the 3 way valve/solenoid
    I told him over the radiator/ near coil but he says there is nothing there...
    instead he sent me a "thing" with three hoses but NO connector...what could this be ? there is two hoses at the bottom and one at the top



    I also had the cutout pressure switch for the fuel pump, what is the wiring for it ? it has three contacts marked 1/2/3...

    Not sure about the translation of spike maybe knock or tack is better
    words i hope you got what it means.

    thanks for the translation dude

    so the complete pinout would be :

    1. Black (knock sensor shield)
    2. Green (knock sensor)
    3. Brown (knock sensor)
    4. -- (knock signal, do not touch)
    5. -- (knock led)
    6. Black (ground)
    7. Blue (RPM / coil-)
    8. Black (ground)
    9. Green/red (Pressure sensor)
    10. -- (connected with 9)
    11. -- (Control signal F-circuit do not touch )
    12. Yellow/white (three ways valve / solenoid)
    13. -- (LED to F-circuit)
    14. Gray/red (+12V)

    please correct if anything wrong in this !

    for what I know of it, it matches...except for the 5 pin as there is no pin on the connector BUT there is some circuit leading to where the pin would be on the board so

    maybe I should add a pin there to obtain signal ?

    also, what does #13 Led to F circuit ?

    anyone ever tried to find a gauge that would connect to the pressure sender ?

    found on another forum...

    "Does the grey 14pin APC box also lack the connector for connecting a knock LED?"
    "A LED can be soldered into the system on either box's knock sensing circuits."

    so it seems to me that means that indeed I have to solder onto the board to get the knockLed...anyone to confirm this ?

    I can't confirm anything but I can say that
    "13. -- (Diod till F-kretsen) > LED to F-circuit"
    isn't quite right.
    It should be:
    13. -- (Diod till F-kretsen) > DIODE to F-circuit.

    Edit:
    I also believe that you'r missing the knocksensor if the things on the pic is what you have.
    I'm not shure but i think it should be mounted on the head, somewhere in the middle of the intake manifold.
    It looks a little like a hydraulic connection called " banjo" in Swedish, with a bolt straight through it and a electric connector on the side instead of the hose.
    The unknown thingy looks like a vacuumswitch for the egrsystem and i don't think you want that.

    It's bad that you can't read swedish because there is a thread about apc here that pretty much covers it all.

    err, quite right but a LED is indeed a diode (LED = light-emitting diode)
    so I think in this context, it's equivalent...

    Yes, you can use a led as a diode, but to say it's equivalent is a little too much.

    no problem, I got the knock sensor
    thanks for the tip about the mysterious component
    if it's a vacuum switch then...it's broken :-)

    anyway, the project continues here :

    Hi!

    The missing pin is pin nr 10. Check out your image again, pin 1 and pin 14 are numbered on the circuit board.

    The F-circuit LED works like the knock LED, but it monitors the boost control circuit instead of the knock circuit.
    The F-LED can be fun if you like to know more about what APC is trying to do with your boost.
