    questions for Saabgurus

Hello...I come from southeast USA & run an '86 900T16...I love this forum & trying to improve my understanding of Swedish language...much killer info to be found here!...I like to listen to Pugh Rogefeldt singing "Dä Ä Bra,Dä Ä fint" while I try to read,it's jammin'!!!

    questions:

1)Here in USA,1979 900EMS came with a special manual steering rack with 3.5 turns lock to lock instead of standard 4.2...these are hard to find here, but I found one...however,it needs a rebuild...did Swedish models get this special steering also? If so, what year & model? Are there any parts suppliers that have the inner tie rods (styrstag?) for these racks? Does anyone know who made these manual racks for the early 900's?

2)Does any speedshop in Sweden make "quick ratio" steering racks for og900? I think in Swedish it's "kort styrväxel",is this correct?

3)I was reading about Anders Norstedt's old 900T16 4x4 for rallycross championships...this was kickass!...not much info to be found,I'm just curious about it...I've seen online shops selling VHS videos of late 80's/early 90's rallycross championships, but only in PAL format...any videos online somewhere?

4)Are Biltema tools made in Sweden? I want to put together a small toolkit for my car & think it'd be cool to have some Biltema tools...it seems only Biltema in Finland does mailorder,Finnish language is very hard to read! Do you think Biltema.se would do international mailorder? Or do you laugh at me because Biltema tools are junk?
...they look to be good quality, are they?

    Welcome

    4) Forget Biltema tools. The are good for the price. Made in China. The most swedish we have will be Bacho Tools http://www.bahco.com/asp/front/index.as ... enuID=1127

Well, one thing's for sure. You don't need to be embaresed about finding the Finnish language beeing hard to read. If you ain't a "finn" you won't be able to read it.

    That's it...

    Howdy!
Welcome our community and enjoy it.

Swedish music on the web can be found at http://www.sr.se/kanaler/

    3) PAL is the color coding standard, which means you will be able to watch in black and white on a standard US VCR. However, many recent VCRs ar able to playback both NTSC and PAL in color.

    4) Biltema sells a lot of good tools for the home mechanic. It is not top of the line, but usually good enough for an amateur. Even if many tools are manufactured in the far east they are often designed in Sweden and manufactured to swedish specifications.

Thanx for the tips & links!
I like the Bahco tools,I have an ergo adjustable wrench & it's high quality...I am able to find Bahco in U.S.,but Snap-On has bought them in 1999,the sockets & wrenches are made at the Snap-on foundry here in U.S....of course Snap-On are great tools w/ lifetime warranty & the Bahco U.S. tools look great...I'm just looking for a good "mechanic set" for the car when I'm on the road...are the wrenches & sockets sold in Sweden by Bahco made in U.S.A.?

o.k.,no worries 'bout not readin' Suomi, but my eyeballs loved to look at "saabmerkkiluokka.com" with all the og900 racing, but they're no longer online...

Anybody know about the steering rack stuff?
