Hi i´m from Portugal and a proud MY01 Saab 9-5 Aero owner...

I love the car and already made a costum turbo intake pipe... but want just a bit more power...

What upgrade´s i should i go for just a bit more power without messing with the law...

I´m considering buying a ECU, what do you recomend?

But there´s must be a consensous... right???? Like everybody knows eibach makes the best springs and koni the best shocks...

I´m not looking for overall power figures just a bit more power with reliability, i´m sticking with bolt on´s...

The car´s pretty fast as is but it´s just another SAAB... i want to be superior, one of a kind were i live...

I´m considering droping a k&n replacement filter, a ECU and remove the 2º CAT...

What do you think? And what more should i adress?

Ask your local SAAB dealer about Hirsch-upgrades for your model.

Personally, I do not have any experience of the listed companies products, but N have been very helpful with advise.

Hi,

Overall, there is no real consensus on who makes the best upgrades. Mostly because people believe in the advertising...

Just an ECU upgrade is not really the best thing for a 9-5 Aero, that is close to the limit of the hardware already stock. Your software gives around 250 hp with overboost, so you're not far away from MY02- Aeros.

What I would do is:

1. Switch to the 9-5 3,0 TiD inlet pipe (the one going into the airbox)
2. Look for a better intercooler (preferrably front mounted)
3. Replace exhaust with 3" from turbo incl. sport-/race catalyst
4. Get an ECU that is adapted to that HW specification, which should allow close to 300 hp.
